Top 10 list on the countries you can visit in Europe without having to go on a plane.
I’m sure everyone loves to go on holiday, but this isn’t the case for someone who’s too scared to fly or has a phobia of it! And it can become a bit of a nuisance if you still would really like a break away from reality, but sometimes it can be hard to find anywhere to go without having to take a trip on a plane.
Therefore I’ve put together a Top 10 list of countries that are close enough to the UK to visit by using another method of transport to get to them, plus some of them have the most beautiful cultures that you should go and explore!
10. Jersey and Guernsey
If you don’t want to travel too far then I’d suggest that Jersey or Guernsey is an ideal place for your holiday, not only do they have some of the most gorgeous sandy beaches, but they’re also close enough to France that you get great weather, and you could even take a day trip over there! Instead of flying to Jersey or Guernsey you can easily hop onto a ship instead that will take you there, although the journey might take a tad longer!
Copenhagen has a lot to offer, especially if you like history
Plus, you can also take a quick trip over to Sweden from here by just using the Oresund bridge, so this way you could visit two countries at once, or even just take a day trip over there!
8. Belgium – Brussels
Belgium really is one of the prettiest countries to visit in spring and summer time, not only is Brussels a great city for a spot of shopping, but it’s also great for chocolate too! And if you decide to visit Brussels make sure you take a trip to Planete Chocolat, as it’s the best chocolate factory around!
If you’re not really looking for some summer sun, but still want an adventure, then Norway or the other Scandinavian countries is the best bet for you! As they can be beautiful at this time of year, plus this way you don’t have to put up with one of their chilly winters!
Germany certainly does have a lot of history, from the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, when West and East Germany was finally reunited, to the whole history of both the world wars. However, history isn’t the only thing that Germany has to offer, as there are a whole variety of attractions you can see as well, like Neuschwanstein Castle, which was used as an inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty castle by Walt Disney.
If you really want a beach holiday then Brittany has a lot to offer! Plus, if you really don’t want to travel that far then this could be more ideal for you, as you can get a ship over there from Portsmouth, Plymouth and many other locations, depending who you book with of course!
If you’re up for a partying holiday then Amsterdam is truly the place to be at! From sightseeing to strip clubs this place really does have a variety of things you can do. Or you can even visit one their truly unique cafes that sell a range of organic plants, which you can’t get legally in any other country in Europe!
Everyone loves a typical Spanish holiday, and if you don’t like flying this can be a bit of a nuisance. Instead why not take your car to avoid this, and that way you can also have a nice little road trip through France, so Spain won’t be the only country you visit this summer!
2. Cruise around Europe
However if you really want to go all out then why not treat yourself to a cruise around Europe, and that way there would be no flying at all, so you’d be stress free!
1. France- Monte Carlo
If you really want a glamorous holiday with a bit more heat than normal, then Monte Carlo would be a great place for you! It’s located in the South of France, so you really will get a glimpse at some of them bright blue seas, plus, the nightlife there is fantastic if you’re looking for a bit more sophistication!
So there you have it, the top 10 countries to visit without having to get on a plane.
