Parkinson Rainbow 5-6CM Parkinson’s Rainbowfish are a peaceful and colorful species that thrive in larger community aquariums. It is recommended to keep them in groups of 6 or more due to their shoaling behavior. These fish require plenty of swimming space, so a tank that is at least 4ft long is essential. While juvenile Rainbowfish may appear dull in color, they will gradually develop their vibrant red-orange hues as they mature in a planted tank. To enhance their colors, consider using darker substrate, dense planting, and appropriate decor. These fish are not a threat to smaller tankmates due to their narrow mouth/throat. Males may engage in minor sparring when competing for females, but this behavior does not result in serious harm. Parkinson’s Rainbowfish can adapt to various water conditions, but they thrive best in slightly harder, alkaline water with good filtration and high oxygen levels.
