Blue Neon Chinta Cichlid 5-6CM Blue Neon Cichlid Paracyprichromis nigripinnis thrive best in large, mixed-sex groups within a deep and spacious Tanganyikan-themed aquarium. The tank should feature ample rockwork, arranged into secure sheer walls and shady caves. These fish often spend their time resting against the rocky surfaces, with males defending their selected caves. Paracyprichromis nigripinnis are generally peaceful and are ideally suited for either a species-only tank or with other Tanganyikan cichlids that share a similar size, temperament, and dietary requirements. Certain Cyprichromis species can also be good tank mates, as they typically inhabit different areas of the aquarium, remaining further out in the mid-water zone. It is advisable to maintain a group of at least 8 Paracyprichromis nigripinnis, consisting of one male and several females. Keeping two males in the same tank may lead to conflicts, so we suggest having either one male or multiple males to help distribute any potential aggression. Whenever possible, ensure that each male is accompanied by three or more females. This means that if you intend to house more than one male, a larger aquarium will be necessary to accommodate the predominantly female group. These fish are prone to stress, so it is important to handle them carefully during catching, transporting, and acclimatizing to a new environment. Consistently excellent water conditions are crucial, with regular partial water changes to keep nitrate levels low. When adding new (dechlorinated) water, do so gradually and ensure it matches the tank’s temperature. A large breeding colony of Paracyprichromis nigripinnis creates a stunning display, with their vibrant colors best showcased under subdued lighting. Occasionally, a rare albino variety may be available. All sizes are approx, Picture is of the fish in stock
