Pea puffer 2.5-3CM This miniature species from the freshwaters of South West India reaches a maximum size of 2cm, making it perfect for smaller aquarium setups. Pygmy Puffers tend to form loose shoals initially, but males may become territorial after a few days in their new environment. While they are not overly aggressive, occasional chasing may occur without causing harm. These lively fish are entertaining to observe as they dart around the tank, but they are not compatible with other fish species. Pygmy Puffers are adaptable to various water conditions as long as they are well-maintained. Unlike some Asian puffers, they do not require brackish water or salt additions. Providing ample plant cover in the tank will give these curious fish hiding spots and a chance to avoid conflicts with tankmates. They are sometimes sold under the names Dwarf or Pea Puffer.
