ROSY BARB GLOWLIGHT 4-5CM For an ideal setup, it is recommended to house no fewer than five rosy barbs in an aquarium, as they are schooling fish and may feel stressed when alone. Rosy barbs have a tendency for aggressive or ‘fin-nipping’ behavior, but keeping them in schools of five or more can help reduce this tendency. It is best to avoid housing them with slower-moving, long-finned fish due to this behavior. Rosy barbs are great community fish and socialize well with other nonaggressive fish of similar size that prefer cooler water. Suitable tankmates include swordtails, gouramis, angelfish, knifefish, ropefish, paradise fish, danios, tetras, many American cichlids, and other barbs. Aquarium hobbyists have found success using rosy barbs as dither fish in cichlid tanks. Their brightly colored presence can attract shy cichlids out of their hiding spots, as it signals a lack of nearby predators. Additionally, rosy barbs are agile enough to outswim most cichlids of the same size. Due to their hardy nature, rosy barbs are relatively easy to care for in captivity.
