Dwarf Emerald Rasbora 2-2.5CM The Emerald Dwarf ‘Rasbora’ is a small yet stunning fish that thrives in compact, well-planted aquariums. These little beauties are quite shy, so it’s best to keep them in groups of at least 10 to help them feel secure. If you want to encourage breeding, a dedicated tank for just D. erythromicron can increase your chances of success, although they can also coexist peacefully with other small, gentle species. Hailing from Lake Inle in Myanmar’s Shan States, these fish prefer water that is relatively hard and alkaline, so replicating their natural environment is key. Given that Lake Inle is situated at a high elevation (around 3000 feet), it’s important to maintain a cooler water temperature, ideally not exceeding 25 °C. Providing ample hiding spots with rocks, caves, driftwood, and plants—especially floating varieties—will help them feel more at ease and encourage them to explore. Gentle yet effective filtration is advisable, along with regular small water changes to minimize organic waste. Other fish from Lake Inle include Sawbwa resplendens and Yunnanilus brevis. The classification of Danio erythromicron has sparked some debate, with some experts suggesting it might belong to the Microrasbora genus. You might also find them marketed as Burmese Zebra ‘Rasbora’. If you need real photos instead of the stock photo, please feel free to reach out to us.
