Some Dwarf Cichlids can be kept in an aquarium as small as 40 litres, at around 27°C, with a pH of 6.0-6.6 and KH of 3. However, will not handle a dramatic change to their environment. Dwarf Cichlids can be territorial like all cichlids, especially when breeding. Fish that coexist with Dwarf Cichlids in the aquarium include corys, larger species of tetra, bristlenose catfish, rasbora, angelfish, discus and other community fish that thrive in a tropical environment.
