Description The Rod End Gage is intended for initial alignment of the MD3614M rod end used on the RV elevators. It is critical that the rod ends that make up the elevator pivot point are correctly aligned. Incorrect alignment can result in difficult bolt insertion, binding and cracking of the elevator spar. Note the picture is not the rod end used on the RV, but a similar rod end used for illustration. The gage uses an AN3 bolt that you supply to accurately locate the 13/16 initial height of the bolt hole from the mounting surface. If you have to add a doubler per SB 14-02-05, the distance should be 3/4″. Just flip this gage over and you have a precise 3/4″ distance. The gage is relieved for rivet heads.
