1500 sounds like a lot in theory, but it wasn’t until I held the box and opened it to the full bundle that I fully appreciated how massive this collection is. 30 colors, 50 stems each. And such pretty colors! Honestly, sometimes I go to the store for pipe cleaners in my relatively small town, and they might not even have them, and if they do, it’s going to be maybe 10 colors. My 15-year-old daughter was excited about the peach flesh-colored ones- that’s a hard color to find! And of course there was a lot of oos and ahs over the many sparkly stems. The white ones are my favorite.As a homeschooling mom of 7, and active participant in various meet-ups, I know these pipe cleaners are going to get some wonderful use to spur our children’s creativity. And maybe mine too- I am impressed by the T-Rex instructions that came with the kit. It makes me want to look more into learning some more advanced techniques myself.I didn’t notice these being thinner than others I’ve worked with, as other reviewers pointed out. Maybe I’m just used to working with thinner stems? I think it’s a relative term. Certainly there will be some variences over the market, and I don’t even know how to check for that. But these are plenty strong to do what I want them to do!The only caution I will give the buyer is the advice to have a place to put these. Once you open the box, they air out a bit and spread out a bit, making it nearly impossible to put them back in. I’m going to come up with some other way to store these.Overall I’m very happy with this kit and would recommend buying in bulk this way. You get so many more beautiful colors than you can when you buy small, and maybe even save a little money.
