After nearly two years since season three was released the fourth season is ready to air.
It’s not long now until you’ll be able to grab your popcorn and dive into June’s life in Gilead. The series is set to air on the 28th of April on Hulu.
However, it is not set to air in the UK just yet, so you may have to wait a little longer if you do not have access to Hulu.
It has been announced that there will be three episodes released on the 28th and then there will be weekly episodes afterwards. There will be ten episodes in total.
The Handmaid’s Tale does normally air on Channel 4 in the UK, which it will be doing again, but not until later on in the year. No dates have been confirmed just yet.
Season three definitely kept you on your feet, as June successfully helped a group of children escape Gilead, and they became refugees in Canada.
However, her plan didn’t go quite as planned as she did end up getting shot, but her handmaid companions helped rescue her.
Hulu did release a trailer for the upcoming season three weeks ago and it looks very action-packed.
It seems that June will start a rebellion in Gilead and she will be the leader of it. While getting more and more children across the border into Canada. The trailer also suggests that Fred Waterford will be trying to hunt June down to kill her.
Hulu has released a statement about the fourth season saying: “In the upcoming fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale, June (Elisabeth Moss) strikes back against Gilead as a fierce rebel leader, but the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges,” the synopsis reads. “Her quest for justice and revenge threatens to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.”
It has also been confirmed that most of the cast will be returning, including Elizabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Max Minghella, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, O-T Fagbenele, Bradley Whitford and Sam Jaeger.
There will also be a new addition to the cast, which is Mckenna Grace who will be a teenage wife of a commander that rules her farm and household. You may recognise her from Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House.
